With news that the nomination deadline has been extended until 18 January, there’s still time to enter this year’s Finance Awards Wales.

With 12 categories ranging from Rising Star to CFO of the Year, nominations are welcomed across all industries and sectors.

“We’re delighted at the response so far”, says Finance Awards Wales MD, Matt Hyde. “Our aim is to celebrate the talented finance professionals on Wales who are often the unsung heroes behind Wales’ economic success. Our ceremony on 5 April will be the perfect way to recognise their achievements”.

Here’s what 2018 winners had to say about the Awards

Vicky Williams, Flexicare Winner of Financial Controller of the Year

Winning was one of the high points of my year.  It made all the hard work worthwhile.  It felt amazing to have recognition for everything I had done.  The evening was great fun and not too stuffy, we are all looking forward to next year's event.

David Landen, Hodge Bank won Young Finance Director of the Year

“The finance profession often does not get the chance to come together to celebrate its successes. It was a huge honour for me to win the award for Young Finance Director of the year in the inaugural year of the Finance Awards with my fellow professionals in what was a fantastic event. The awards in 2019 promise to be even bigger and better and will again showcase the huge talent we have here in Wales.”

Hannah Heath, JoJo Maman Bebe Winner of Finance Director of the Year and Team was recognised as highly commended

“It is not often that finance professionals in industry get recognition for our achievements, so I was thrilled to have a platform to acknowledge my team’s hard work and celebrate with them. As a team we just missed out, but it was an honour to win the Finance Director of the year at the inaugural awards. I also found it really encouraging to see so many female winners on the night. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!”

The closing date for nominations is 5pm on 18 January 2019 and shortlisted nominees will be announced in the Spring.
