Elwen Rowlands and Hayley Manning are launching Little Door Productions, a television and film production company based in Cardiff.

Little Door Productions has received investment from the Great Point Ventures Enterprise Investment Fund (EIS) managed by Great Point, the UK’s leading independent investor and adviser to the media and creative industries. It has also received company funding from Ffilm Cymru Wales Company Support Scheme.

Little Door Productions is a female-led company that will make quality drama for the local and international market, enabling talent to create their best work. The company will seek out authentic voices, creating stories with universal appeal.

The company is fully operational and already has a series commissioned for a UK broadcaster, which will shoot in Cardiff early next year, as well as a number of projects in commissioned development.

Rowlands and Manning boast a wide range of experience across the industry.  Rowlands comes from an editorial background and has worked in production and commissioning for a range of UK Broadcasters and Production Companies. Her credits include Doctor Who, Life On Mars, Vera, Wide Sargasso Sea, The Last Post.

Manning comes from a background in independent film production where she delivered a number of feature films to a wide range of European financiers, distributors and international co-producers.  Most recently she worked as Head of Production and Financial Controller on high-end BBC One period drama The Last Post, which was filmed in South Africa.

Elwen Rowlands, Director of Little Door Productions, said:

“It’s an opportune time to be launching a drama indie in the Nations and Regions as we witness a growing need for companies with a genuine footprint there. We have an exciting mix of truly talented individuals on our slate and look forward to bringing their ideas to audiences global and local”.

Hayley Manning, Director of Little Door Productions, said:

“The industry is booming so it is a very exciting time to be launching Little Door. Although we feel very strongly about producing shows out of Cardiff and investing in talent locally, our focus is on delivering projects for the international market”.

Jim Reeve, Great Point’s Co-Founder said:

“We are delighted to invest in Little Door and help the team grow the business, develop and produce a slate of work with international appeal, but also focussing on their Nations and Regions base.”

“With increasing demand for great content in TV and film, it’s an exciting time for the UK media and creative industries.”

The Great Point Ventures EIS Fund, which is currently raising capital and looking to close its next tranche in October 2019, invests in a diversified portfolio of growth businesses operating in the UK media and creative industries, a sector which has grown at a faster rate than the economy as a whole. Little Door is one of the six investments made by the fund so far.
