A Part Exchange manager has just racked up an outstanding 20 years at a Cardiff-based housebuilder.

Carol Johnston, based at Bellway Wales’ divisional head office in St Mellons, initially joined the company as a sales advisor in 1998, rising through the ranks over the last two decades.

The popular mum-of-two has since been promoted to Part Exchange manager for Bellway’s Wales division.

Carol, 60, said:

“It’s given me a tremendous sense of pride and satisfaction to help get Part Exchange off the ground for Bellway South West and Bellway Wales over the past three years.

“We are very busy.

“Every day is different and we’re tackling a constant challenge.”

She added: “Part Exchange is a very useful tool and has become increasingly important.

“We’re working in a very competitive marketplace and we’ve got to stay at the cutting edge.

“You’ve got to be very self-motivated and I just love selling, completing the deal and helping people move into their dream home.”

With Part Exchange, Bellway will offer a fair price for the customer’s existing home based upon an independent valuation and there are no estate agent or advertising fees to pay.

There’s also no property chain, so no risk of their sale falling through.

Carol attended a presentation launch at the Jesmond Dene House hotel in Newcastle, Bellway’s hometown, along with her colleagues to celebrate crashing through the 20-year barrier.

Carol said:

“There must have been 30 to 40 of us there from all over the country and we had a fantastic time.

“We were gifted £1,000 to buy something of our choice while Champagne was laid on for us.

“I’m still loving it at Bellway but I’m not sure about working another 20 years – that may be a step too far!”
