Event Asks Pembrokeshire Businesses Their Views on the Economy, Jobs and Skills

Businesses across Pembrokeshire are being invited to an event designed to foster conversations about topics relevant to the county.

It’s Your Pembrokeshire is organised by 4theRegion, an independent, not-for-profit organisation working to enhance South West Wales and the local economy through collaboration and by bringing people together.

A first-of-its kind event for the county, It’s Your Pembrokeshire will be about co-creating positive change and encouraging discussions surrounding topics chosen by the community.

There will be eight zones covering talking points which have been decided through consultation with residents and organisations including Pembrokeshire College, Bluestone, PLANED, Haverhub, PAVS, Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum and others.

These talking points are: Transport, Food, Creative Economy, Nature & Environment, Jobs & Skills, Community Action, Buying Local and Youth Empowerment.

Zoe Antrobus, who co-founded 4theRegion in 2018, said:

“We’re so excited to bring this event to Pembrokeshire after the success of It’s Your Swansea, which has run since 2019 and has become an annual celebration of the people, businesses and organisations in the county of Swansea.

“We’ve worked with the people of Pembrokeshire to come up with topics that are relevant and important, which also tie into universal themes and things we all care about. We thank everyone for their input in this knowledge-share.”

Dawn Lyle, Co-Founder of 4theRegion, added:

“This free event is an exclusive opportunity for everyone in Pembrokeshire to get their voice heard. We’ll be getting big businesses in the room with small ones, companies and the community sitting round the table together. This is a perfect place for listening and sharing, and we hope to see as many people as possible there to engage in exciting conversations.”

Gitti Coats, Director of Haverhub and a contributor to the consultation, said:

“This event is organised by a team who know the value of conversation and collaboration, which will accelerate growth then augment regional links. I find this very exciting, and I hope Pembrokeshire organisations will participate fully.

“I’m privileged to hear many ideas expressed weekly while running a community hub in Haverfordwest. This event will be the perfect place to share those thoughts on a wider platform, and link ideas with people who can action them.”

It’s Your Pembrokeshire will run on May 8th at The Queens Hall, Narberth.
