As part of Edwards Coaches’ centenary celebrations, the company proudly unveils seven brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC buses, marking another significant investment in the future of public transport in the area.
These new additions bring the local service fleet to 15 permanent vehicles, reaffirming Edwards’ long standing commitment to delivering safe, modern and comfortable transport for the communities it serves.
The new buses are the first local service vehicles to feature Edwards’ signature metallic blue paint, complete with a refreshed livery designed by Jump-On Marketing and applied by D&S Signs, Pontypridd. Each vehicle is branded to represent key local routes 90, 100 and 400, ensuring they stand out as part of the Edwards network.
In a nod to the character of the local communities, every bus includes a unique welcome message at the entrance, featuring colloquial greetings from the regions served. For example, one proudly greets passengers with “Hiya Butt” a familiar and friendly phrase from Rhondda Cynon Taff.
All seven vehicles are fully accessible, featuring next stop announcements, high back seating with seatbelts and USB charging points for passenger convenience. For added safety, Coachtek has installed CCTV systems throughout.
This £1.7 million investment joins five other new vehicles introduced in 2025:
- Two Mercedes-Benz Tourismos for the tour fleet, one proudly displaying Edwards’ centenary crest.
- A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter EVM Cityline, mainly operating on services 105, 107, and 109 in and around Pontypridd.
- A dual-branded Edwards National Express Caetano Levante 3A, reflecting Edwards’ strong partnership with National Express.
- An executive 33-seater Ilesbus Glance, offering enhanced comfort for smaller groups.
Together, these latest additions highlight Edwards’ continued investment in quality, safety, and passenger experience a fitting reflection of the company’s evolution and dedication as it celebrates 100 years of service to the community.
