Copper Consultancy to Deliver Major Construction Communications Project for Bute Energy

Copper Consultancy has been appointed to deliver construction communications for Bute Energy’s Twyn Hywel Energy Park – the company’s first project to enter construction.

The energy park, located just north-west of Caerphilly, is the flagship development of Bute Energy, a major renewables developer. Once complete, it will be able generate up to 93MW of wind-powered energy – enough to power over 81,000 households.

Copper will provide support to Bute Energy in managing community understanding and awareness of developments during construction of the energy park. Specifically, Copper will manage correspondence and enquiries from the public, and develop content to keep local communities informed on the latest updates.

Copper will reinvest 2% of the value of its contract with Bute Energy back into local communities around the Twyn Hywel Energy Park – mainly through volunteering opportunities in the region around the area – as part of its commitment to supporting the local communities it works in.

Work with Bute Energy adds to the growing list of major developers and infrastructure partners Copper works with in Wales, following its Cardiff office opening in 2024. Since then, the company has worked with the likes of Vantage Data Centres on their Welsh portfolio, supported Cardiff Parkway and Padeswood CCS secure consent, and is supporting Gwynt Glas on a 1.5GW floating offshore wind project.

Annabel Beardsmore, Director at Copper Consultancy, said:

“The Twyn Hywel development is another exciting step forward for the Welsh renewables sector, and we're delighted Copper is right beside Bute Energy in helping to deliver a critical energy park for the country.

“As the project begins construction, keeping communities informed will be of the utmost importance. Through our expertise and experience, we're excited to support the project as it moves from dream to reality, and help support one of the most pivotal onshore renewable projects being developed in Wales today.”

Bute Energy’s Twyn Hywel Energy Park is Copper’s first major construction communications contract for a project based in Wales. It builds on Copper’s significant portfolio of work supporting organisations during construction elsewhere in Great Britain.

The company has supported organisations working on some of the most significant construction projects in the UK – such as High Speed 2 Ltd and National Highways – as well as some of the country’s biggest construction companies.
