Caldicot Care Home Celebrates 30 Years


A care home in Caldicot, celebrated 30 years since it first opened its doors yesterday with an exclusive event for residents, relatives, and members of the local community.

Cherry Tree Care Home, which welcomed its first residents in 1992, recognised individuals who have contributed to its success at the event with afternoon tea, champagne, and a Welsh harpist.

As part of the milestone event, the Mayor Cllr Maxine Mitchell was also in attendance and helped plant an olive tree for the residents which symbolises peace and friendship.

General Manager at Cherry Tree Care Home, Gill Jones said:

“We started our celebration by welcoming family and friends into the home for a champagne reception after which we planted an Olive Tree which symbolises Peace and friendship. Together we celebrated this wonderful event by sharing our stories with each other and reminiscing over the past 30 years about the home’s growth and its long-standing presence in the community.”

Cherry Tree Care Home, provides residential and nursing care. Its facilities include; a café, hair salon and landscaped gardens.
