BT has signed a deal to become the exclusive lead partner of Welsh football until 2024. The partnership will see the BT logo appear on all training kit worn by all Men’s, Women’s, Development and Disability Teams from November.
The partnership with the FAW will aim to connect the nation at every level of the game, particularly supporting grassroots. More details about the broader ambitions of the partnership will be revealed in the coming months and is part of a wider new BT brand and sponsorship strategy, to champion every home nation.
Marc Allera, Chief Executive of BT’s consumer division, said:
“To be the lead partner for Welsh football is a proud moment for BT and supports our ambition to be a national champion across the UK. Our partnership will reach all areas of football, including grassroots football and communities.”
The partnership is part of a wider move by BT to partner with all the Home Nations for the next five years. The partnership with all the nations will start in November when the men’s and women’s teams will be aiming to qualify for next summer’s Euro 2020 and Euro 2021 tournaments respectively.
Jonathan Ford, Chief Executive of the Football Association of Wales, said:
“The FAW are delighted BT will become exclusive lead partner of our national teams. We are really excited about this partnership developing with the expertise and services that BT have to offer.”
