Brooks Macdonald, the investment manager with £12.8 billion in funds under management (as at 30 September 2018) for clients in the UK and internationally, announces the return of its Adviser Academies taking place in January and February 2019 across 29 locations. Brooks Macdonald Wales will be hosting the following Adviser Academies:

Location Date Session
Liberty Stadium, Swansea Wednesday, 13 February Breakfast
Brooks Macdonald, Cardiff Wednesday, 13 February Lunch

This series of structured CPD events, in partnership with Invesco, will bring together influential speakers to focus on important topics to the financial and professional adviser community, to include the macroeconomic environment, Brexit and helping clients plan for decumulation.

Following feedback from its adviser community on the back of the last Academy roadshow, Brooks Macdonald has changed the format for 2019. Events will now take place quarterly across the UK from January, with the second round commencing in May 2019.

The Wales Adviser Academies are open to financial advisers and paraplanners throughout the region and will include speakers from Brooks Macdonald and Invesco:

Current market insights and outlook beyond Brexit – Invesco

Against a backdrop of rising protectionist rhetoric and policies, increasing Central Bank policy divergence and concerns over where we are in the economic cycle a heightened level of investor uncertainty prevails. Invesco will provide a broad macroeconomic and market update to put these concerns into perspective to better inform your decision-making processes and client conversations.

From accumulation to decumulation: a structured approach to drawdown planning – Brooks Macdonald

When investors start to rely on their long-term savings as their main source of income, Brooks Macdonald believes they need a new investment solution. In this presentation, the firm will provide an overview of its decumulation strategy and explain how it has been designed to overcome the risks specific to investors during their retirement, and how it aims to meet investors’ income requirements over the long term.

Meeting clients’ investment management needs – Brooks Macdonald

Brooks Macdonald will explain how it looks to meet its diverse private client needs. The firm will provide an interpretation of the current macroeconomic environment and how that translates into its asset allocation strategy; providing insight into how its investment management process aims to achieve strong market returns despite the current challenging backdrop.
