A framework with an estimated contract value of £1billion over the next four years, has gone live on Sell2Wales, the Welsh Government’s information source and procurement portal.
The SEWSCAP (South East & Mid Wales Collaborative Construction) Framework has launched its third iteration following its prior success which saw it deliver approximately 95 projects at a value of £995million.
SEWSCAP3 draws together the expertise of pre-qualified, experienced small, medium and large contractors to provide various school / public buildings construction works, as well as modular and demountable solutions, between the values of over £250k to £100m.
The framework currently contains thirteen local authorities from Monmouthshire County Council in the East, as far West as Bridgend County Council and North into Powys County Council and all authorities in-between. Also included within the framework is the Welsh Government and associated trading bodies such as Transport for Wales, higher and further education bodies, as well as local health boards and housing associations.
Commenting on the new launch, SEWSCAP Framework Manager, Kevin Shackson says:
“The framework seeks to focus heavily on sustainability, meeting the needs and aspirations in Wales of the Well-being of Future Generations Act (2015) and offers a swift route to market and opportunities for early contractor involvement, with a specific focus on attracting contractors of all sizes.
“The framework draws upon years of shared learning between buyers and contractors, cultivating long term relationships in an environment of transparent mutual trust and co-operation.
“Having a portal like Sell2Wales displaying the potential opportunities is crucial as it is a valued, trusted source of information followed by all leading contractors. We are looking forward to seeing the impact of the framework as projects start to go live, and building on our previous results.”
Sell2Wales is part of Business Wales, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and supports the sustainable growth of small and medium-size enterprises across the country by offering access to information, guidance and business support.
