An estimated 426 pubs are listed for sale across Great Britain, with a combined asking value approaching £160 million.
LandSale, a property portal dedicated to land and rural property, analysed its internal data of live pub listings currently on the market, assessing regional availability, average asking prices and the estimated total value of pubs currently on the market across Great Britain.
The analysis shows that Britain's current pub for sale stock boasts a total market value of £159.8 million, with the average pub commanding a price tag of £375,000 across Britain.
The South West is home to the largest number of pubs currently on the market, with 82 establishments up for sale, accounting for 19.2% of all listings across Great Britain. The region is also home to the highest total market value, with pubs currently listed carrying a combined asking value of more than £40.2 million.
Wales ranks second, with 69 pubs currently available for sale and a combined market value of £20.4 million, whilst Yorkshire and the Humber places third for availability with 50 listings. Together, the South West and Wales account for more than a third of all pubs currently listed for sale across Great Britain.
Whilst the South West dominates in terms of availability, London is home to the highest average pub asking price. Pubs currently listed in the capital command an average price of £695,000, considerably higher than the national average of £375,000. The South East ranks second at £549,975, followed by the South West at £490,000.
At the other end of the market, Yorkshire and the Humber and the North East offer the lowest average asking prices at £225,000, followed by Scotland at £260,000 and Wales at £295,000.
