Llanmoor Homes Celebrates 60th Anniversary with 5,000th Home Completion

Homebuilder Llanmoor Homes is celebrating its 60th anniversary with another significant milestone – completing the sale of its 5,000th home.

The family-run business was founded in February 1966, and has since developed more than 55 residential sites across South Wales, from Neath Port Talbot in the west to Monmouthshire in the east.

Tim Grey, Sales Director of Llanmoor Homes, said:

Tim Grey - Llanmoor Homes Headshot“It’s very rare for a business in such a competitive industry to still be trading after 60 years, and it’s even more rare for it to still be privately owned and family run.

“We’re immensely proud to continue to deliver high-quality homes across South Wales and to be still following the founding ethics set out by our father – professionalism, dependability, attention to detail and a high-quality personal service.

“Realising we had completed the sale of our 5,000th home in time for our 60th anniversary gave us another reason to celebrate.”

Llanmoor was founded by former Chartered Accountant Brian Grey in 1966, and soon completed its first development, a small group of bungalows, in the village of Brynna, near Pencoed. Brian’s sons Simon, Matthew and Tim Grey continue to run the business.

Llanmoor has won many industry plaudits over the years, including LABC Cymru Building Quality Awards and NHBC Pride in the Job Awards. It also has an A1 rating from the National House Building Council, reflecting exceptionally high construction standards.

The business recently announced it was investing more than £3 million to fit all its newly built homes with air source heat pumps to further improve their energy efficiency.

After starting its first-ever development in Monmouthshire last year, the 51-home Rossers Field site in Govilon, Llanmoor is currently progressing plans for its first-ever development in Swansea. The 280-acre, 1,950-home Pentref Rhostir site will be the city’s largest-ever residential development.

The company has a significant number of other strategic development opportunities across South Wales that are currently progressing through the planning process.

Tim Grey added:

“Over the last 60 years, we’ve gone from a very small company to a multi-award-winning and widely respected new home builder. We continue to work hard to push the company forward and build homes of a very high standard that our customers and we can be proud of.”
