A new specialist nursing home in Cardiff is now accepting referrals and recruiting for a range of clinical and care roles.
Ty Heulog, developed by ivolve Care & Support in partnership with Squirrel Wood Properties, is a purpose-built 32-bed nursing home in Llanishen. It is designed to support adults with complex needs, including neurological conditions, mental health needs, dementia and acquired brain injuries.
Located on Station Road, Ty Heulog will have specialist facilities, landscaped gardens and sensory spaces when it opens in summer 2026. Nursing-led care will be delivered by a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy, alongside psychiatric and Positive Behaviour Support.
The home will use ivolve’s unique Strive model of support, which focuses on building stability, confidence and independence through meaningful routines, relationships and proactive clinical support.
Dan Svensson, Managing Director in Wales at ivolve Care & Support, said:
“Ty Heulog represents an important investment in Cardiff and the wider Welsh community. We are proud to be creating a specialist home where people with complex needs can receive expert nursing care in an environment that feels safe, calm and genuinely welcoming. At the same time, we are creating meaningful careers and development opportunities for local people.”
Recruitment is now underway for a range of roles including Registered Nurses, Care Assistants, Therapy Assistants, Chefs, Activities Coordinators and more.
ivolve also works closely with university partners to support student nurses and offers apprenticeships and career development programmes, including specialist learning academies.
Families and professionals are now able to make referrals for individuals who would benefit from specialist nursing care at Ty Heulog.
ivolve Care & Support operates more than 180 specialist homes across England and Wales, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and complex clinical conditions. The organisation has been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Places to Work for two consecutive years, the only care provider in the sector in the Very Big Organisation category to do so.
