thriving communities

Following the success of the Thriving Communities Event in 2024, Monmouthshire County Council has announced its return, this time with two separate events.

The events will be hosted in Magor and Undy Hub on Thursday, 16 October 2025 and at Abergavenny Market Hall on Monday, 20 October 2025.

Everyone is welcome to experience a market-style event from 11am to 4pm, where local community groups and services will showcase the support and activities available in the community.

In addition to the stalls showcasing local organisations, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with the community through a series of workshops.

Some of the organisations that will be in attendance include Care & Repair Monmouthshire and Torfaen, Keep Wales Tidy, MADS – Magor Amateur Dramatics Society, Sparkle – Family Liaison Service and The Cookalong Clwb.

Monmouthshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Engagement and Equalities, Cllr Angela Sandles, said:

“After such a fantastic event in 2024, we look forward to welcoming everyone to this year's events.

“This presents a wonderful opportunity for residents to learn about the services and organisations available in their community.”

The event is part-funded by the UK Government and is organised by Monmouthshire County Council, Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations and Monmouthshire Housing Association.
