Opportunity for Local Businesses to Help With Exciting Housing Development

A construction company that will build a new affordable housing development in Newtown is looking for local businesses to help with the project.

J. Harper and Sons (Leominster) Ltd are to build 32 one-bedroom, energy efficient, affordable flats on the site of the former Robert Owen House in the town on behalf of Powys County Council.

The company is now looking for suitably experienced and capable construction businesses in the county to help them deliver this exciting development.

A Meet the Buyer event will take place at Newtown Football Club on Wednesday, March 27 where interested businesses can speak to representatives from J. Harper and Sons (Leominster) Ltd about the packages that are available as part of the development.

Cllr Matthew Dorrance, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for a Fairer Powys, said:

“This development in Newtown is part of our ambitious housing building plans and is an important project for this council to help tackle the housing emergency.

“This is a great opportunity for local businesses in the construction industry to work with J. Harper and Sons on this exciting development that will deliver one of our important priorities.”
