NAHT Cymru Spring Training Events

Pensions – Kate Atkinson, NAHT

Although you may be some years away from retirement it is never too early to get to grips with your pension. This event will provide you with some initial tools to begin to understand the way the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (“TPS”) works and begin to plan for your future. When you understand how the TPS works and particularly the retirement options available to you, which have become much more flexible, you will be able to begin to make a plan for the future. This event also aims to highlight the areas where some costly mistakes can be made in relation to TPS if you don’t understand how it works to ensure that you don’t make them – avoiding these mistakes can make the difference between working for longer or being able to retire when you want.

The choices you make in the later stages of your career, particularly in relation to your pension benefits, are as important, if not more important, than those you make at the beginning – taking control sooner rather than later is always the best approach.

Complaints – Malachy Edwards, NAHT

During our time as school leaders we will inevitably come across complaints, both informal and formal. These will arise from a range of stakeholders. Malachy will run through processes for handling complaints and investigations (including vexatious complaints).

Attendance at this Conference is open to Head Teachers, Deputy Head Teachers, Middle Leaders, Assistant Head Teachers & School Bursars irrespective of teacher union or professional association membership.

Places are limited so please book now.

The NAHT has the right to cancel the course if insufficient bookings are received. The NAHT also reserves the right to change the venue prior to the scheduled date, and in this event will communicate any alterations as soon as possible.
