Local Authority Careers Showcased on Immersive Digital Platform

The Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA), in partnership with creative agency One Step North Ltd, has launched a public sector doorway within the Careers in 360 Platform.

The bilingual digital ecosystem aims to transform how the 22 local authorities (LAs) across Wales attract, engage, and retain talent.

The 360 degree platform offers an immersive, visually captivating experience that showcases diverse career pathways, apprenticeships, and skills programmes within local government.

The free to use platform is integrated into a wider network which is accessible to over 350,000 learners across Wales.

Key features of the launch include:

  • Career Exploration: Access to over 300 roles across 22 local authorities, and a further 250 roles across 23 industry sectors in the wider Careers in 360 Platform.
  • Bilingual Accessibility: Full functionality in both Welsh and English.
  • Expoverse Integration: A 24/7 virtual business expo where users can visit interactive booths alongside hundreds of other employers across Wales.

CEO of One Step North Andries Pretorius said:

“This project is a testament to what can be achieved when a small, agile Welsh business collaborates with a national body like the WLGA and all 22 local authorities to solve a common challenge. By working together, we have turned a traditional recruitment hurdle into an immersive, world-first digital experience for 350,000 learners across the country.

“At One Step North, we believe the way people engage with their future shouldn't be static. This launch is just the beginning; as technology rapidly evolves, so will our platforms. We are already looking toward future iterations allowing young people to virtually ‘test-drive' careers in real-time.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of this digital shift, proving that Welsh innovation can set the global standard for how we bridge the gap between education and employment.”
