A family business that began by bringing dinosaurs to schools, events and families across Wales is now competing on the global stage after being nominated in the Digital Creator Awards 2026 World Edition.
Hirwaun-based Dinomania, founded by Ranger Chris Roberts, has spent the past decade turning a love of dinosaurs into one of Wales's most unusual success stories, combining live entertainment and education with viral digital content watched around the world.
Today, the business has built a combined audience of more than four million followers and subscribers across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Dinomania's own website confirms its four-million-plus combined social audience.
But for Chris and the Dinomania team, some of their proudest moments haven't come from millions of views or appearances on television. They've come from using Bramble, Conker and the Dinomania platform to make a difference closer to home.
Through community visits and the Bramble Fund, Dinomania has helped bring its dinosaurs to care homes, hospitals and community settings, creating moments of laughter and connection for people who may never have the opportunity to attend one of its public events.
The impact can sometimes be remarkably simple; a care-home resident reaching out to Bramble, a child laughing, or a room suddenly coming alive when an unexpected dinosaur walks through the door.
Dinomania describes its care-home visits as being specifically designed to encourage conversation, smiles and shared experiences, with visits adapted around residents rather than being treated like a conventional performance.
Bramble and Conker have also supported fundraising initiatives and local causes and, most recently, helped deliver treats donated by Welsh bakery Brace's to firefighters as a thank-you for their efforts protecting communities during the summer.
Despite Dinomania's audience now stretching around the world, that connection with Wales remains central to the business.
Chris Roberts, founder of Dinomania, said:
“It's quite surreal to see Dinomania recognised alongside creators from all over the world.
“Bramble and Conker might now be watched by millions of people online, but some of the moments that mean the most to us are still the ones here in Wales making somebody laugh in a care home, visiting a child, supporting a local cause or simply bringing a bit of happiness to someone's day.
“We've never wanted Dinomania to just be about views and follower numbers. If having such a big audience means we can use it to bring more happiness to people and give something back, then that's what really matters.
“To think that something we've built as a family here in South Wales is now representing Wales on a global stage is something we're incredibly proud of.”
The scale of this year's awards makes the nomination particularly significant.
Organisers of the Digital Creator Awards say creators from 118 countries across six continents have registered for the 2026 World Edition, including creators from 31 European countries.
Dinomania is now taking part in the first phase of public voting, competing alongside hundreds of creators from around the world.
For a business whose story began in Wales, Chris hopes the nomination can also shine a light on what Welsh businesses and creators can achieve while giving the communities that have supported Dinomania over the years something to get behind.
Chris added:
“There are hundreds of creators in our category from all over the world, including some absolutely enormous international accounts.
“Simply making it through to the next stage would be an incredible achievement for us.
“Wales has supported Bramble, Conker and Dinomania from the beginning, so we'd absolutely love to see people across Wales get behind them again and see just how far two little Welsh dinosaurs can go.”
