Welsh Council Establishes New Venture to Support Med Tech Sector

Monmouthshire County Council has made an exciting commitment to a new venture to support the growth of the Med Tech sector by establishing Monmouthshire Med Tech (MMT).

Monmouthshire Med Tech will develop an incubator facility in the county, to encourage and support start-up businesses. The facility will provide onsite business support and is aimed at attracting companies in the diagnostic and devices sector of medical technology. It is hoped that this exciting new venture will encourage more tech companies in the healthcare and healthcare technology sector to relocate to Monmouthshire.

Monmouthshire is a great county to start, locate and grow Med Tech businesses. It is important to support and nurture this sector, which is becoming central to an emerging eco-system fuelled by a number of successful companies already based in the county.

The Med Tech sector is a high growth market and it is exciting to be able to offer opportunities for above average salaries and encourage the creation of more successful businesses in Monmouthshire.

Councillor Bob Greenland, Cabinet Member for Enterprise said:

“We are pleased to announce our commitment to supporting the growth of business and enterprise with the establishment of Monmouthshire Med Tech. MMT will provide an array of opportunities while promoting Monmouthshire not only as an excellent place to live, visit and work but also a great place to invest and expand businesses. The initiative further proves the council’s innovative and creative approach to building the sustainability and resilience of our county.”
