Welsh technology businesses and innovators developing practical solutions that could help organisations improve productivity, reduce costs and unlock new opportunities are being invited to showcase their work through a new Business News Wales initiative.
As part of the launch of its dedicated AI, Tech & Innovation media platform, Business News Wales wants to identify and champion the people, businesses and organisations across Wales developing technologies, tools and services that offer real value to the wider business community.
The ambition is to shine a light on Welsh innovation that can make a tangible difference, connecting those developing new solutions with the businesses and organisations that could benefit from using them.
From artificial intelligence and automation to cybersecurity, digital transformation and emerging technologies, the platform will showcase practical innovations that can help Welsh organisations become more productive, competitive and resilient.
A particular focus will be on identifying Welsh-developed AI tools, applications and techniques that businesses can use to save time, improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, strengthen decision-making and create new products or services.
Business News Wales wants to move beyond simply reporting on technological developments to explaining what these innovations actually do, the problems they solve and how they could benefit other organisations.
The initiative will also provide an opportunity for Welsh innovators to tell the stories behind their technologies, sharing the challenges they have overcome, the lessons they have learned and the practical results their solutions are delivering.
Welsh technology companies, entrepreneurs, researchers and innovators with solutions that could deliver practical benefits to other organisations are encouraged to contact Business News Wales to share their stories.
The invitation extends to established technology companies, emerging start-ups, university spin-outs, independent developers and smaller businesses whose innovations may not yet have received widespread attention.
Business News Wales is particularly interested in hearing from innovators who can demonstrate how their technologies are being applied in real business environments, including examples of improved productivity, successful adoption, new commercial opportunities or solutions to longstanding industry challenges.
While artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are creating opportunities around the world, Business News Wales believes there is an important conversation to be had about how Wales can build on its existing strengths and develop opportunities that reflect the needs of its own economy.
By showcasing Welsh-developed solutions and connecting innovators with potential users, the platform aims to encourage greater awareness of the expertise already available within the country and help businesses explore opportunities to work with homegrown technology providers.
The programme will also be supported by the INFORM Wales AI, Tech & Innovation Editorial Board, which brings together senior figures from across the technology and innovation ecosystem to explore emerging opportunities, industry challenges and the wider implications of technological change for the Welsh economy.
The inaugural Editorial Board, held at Aberthaw in September, brought together representatives from organisations including CSconnected, Cyber Wales, Perago, de Novo Solutions, Vantage Data Centers and the Welsh Government.
Vicki Evans, Director of Editorial Strategy at Business News Wales, said:
“Wales has some incredibly talented people working across artificial intelligence, technology and innovation, developing products and solutions that could make a genuine difference to businesses and organisations across the country.
“But how many Welsh businesses are aware of the technologies being developed on their own doorstep, or the expertise that could help them become more productive, efficient and competitive?
“That is what we want to help change.
“Importantly, this is not just about established technology companies or the businesses that already have a high profile. Some of the most interesting innovations are being developed by smaller businesses, start-ups, researchers and entrepreneurs whose work deserves much greater recognition.
“We want to discover those people and help connect their expertise with the wider Welsh business community.
“If we can help Welsh organisations discover and adopt solutions developed by Welsh innovators, we can support productivity, encourage collaboration and create new commercial opportunities within our own economy.
Welsh technology businesses, AI developers, entrepreneurs, researchers and innovators with products, services or expertise that could deliver real value to other organisations are invited to contact Business News Wales to share their stories, showcase their solutions or contribute to future editorial coverage and podcasts.
