Wales Rural Vision Podcast Series – Episode 1 – Diversifying the Rural Economy


This episode hosted by Professor Carwyn Jones, will discuss challenges facing the rural economy in Wales and opportunities to diversify and strengthen the rural economic base by adding value to the region’s agricultural and natural resources, developing new products, supporting research and innovation, and reducing waste with a circular economy approach.

Joined by guests Cllr Goronwy Edwards, Cabinet Member Conwy County Borough Council , Dr Rhian Hayward MBE, Chief Executive, Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus Ltd, and Eifion Williams, Chief Executive, Circular Economy Wales CIC, this session will discuss how improving the productivity of rural areas provides opportunities for high quality employment, safeguarding the Welsh language and retaining young people.
