The Institute of Directors (IoD) Wales has launched the prestigious Wales Director of the Year Awards.
This highly anticipated annual event celebrates excellence in leadership, innovation, and business success, highlighting the remarkable achievements of directors across Wales.
The awards, featuring 10 categories, will culminate in a ceremony on Friday 9th May 2025 at ICC Wales, hosted by broadcaster Carole Green.
Cardiff Business School is continuing its longstanding partnership with the awards as headline sponsor. IoD Wales said the School’s commitment to supporting Welsh businesses and fostering leadership excellence is pivotal to the success of this event.
Tim Edwards, Dean of Cardiff Business School, commented:
“We are immensely proud to sponsor the Wales Director of the Year Awards once again. Recognising and celebrating the accomplishments of directors is vital to driving innovation and resilience across the Welsh economy. We look forward to seeing the exceptional talent this year’s awards will bring to the forefront.”
This year’s awards include two exciting new categories:
- Small Business Director of the Year (for businesses with up to 50 employees)
- Medium – Large Business Director of the Year (for businesses with over 50 employees)
These additions join established categories such as International Director of the Year and Equity & Diversity Director of the Year, ensuring the awards reflect the diverse range of leadership in Wales.
Richard Selby, National Chair of IoD Wales, said:
“The Wales Director of the Year Awards shine a spotlight on the individuals whose vision and determination drive our economy and communities forward. It’s fantastic to see the awards evolve with new categories, and we are especially grateful to Cardiff Business School for their continued sponsorship. We encourage directors across Wales to submit their entries and share their incredible stories.”
Entries open on Friday, 29th November, and all directors from private, public, and non-profit sectors are encouraged to apply or submit nominations.
