Tramshed Tech Co-Founder Mark John has been appointed Chair of Ofcom's Advisory Committee for Wales, with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water Corporate Affairs Director Heulyn Gwyn Davies also joining the committee.
Both have been appointed for three-year terms and will bring senior-level experience spanning technology, innovation, business, communications, public affairs and stakeholder engagement to the UK communications regulator's work in Wales.
Ofcom regulates the UK's communications industries, covering areas including broadband and mobile services, TV, radio and on-demand content, postal services and the use of the wireless spectrum.
Its responsibilities also include protecting consumers from scams and harmful practices, supporting competition and helping ensure people and businesses have access to the communications services and technology they need.
Mark John brings extensive board and C-suite experience from across the Welsh, UK and international technology, digital and creative sectors.
As Co-Founder of Tramshed Tech, he has been closely involved in the development of Wales' technology and innovation ecosystem and has experience building and leading collaborative networks bringing together businesses and organisations across the creative, digital and technology industries.
He also holds a number of prominent board roles across the Welsh and wider UK technology landscape and will now serve as Chair of Ofcom's Advisory Committee for Wales.

Heulyn Gwyn Davies joins the committee with more than 20 years' experience in corporate affairs and communications.
Currently Corporate Affairs Director at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, his career has included advising organisations and senior leaders on reputation, strategy, public affairs and stakeholder engagement.
His role has also given him extensive experience working across business, government, politics and the media, alongside a strong understanding of Wales' political, cultural and media landscape.
Ofcom's Advisory Committee for Wales provides advice to the regulator about the interests and opinions of people living in Wales on communications and postal matters.
The appointments will see Mark and Heulyn contribute their expertise and experience to Ofcom's work in Wales and across the UK over the next three years.
