Rhys Griffiths, Business Relationship Manager at the Open University in Wales, spoke with Business News Wales to discuss the skills gap in Wales and the impact its having on employers

Earlier this year, The Open University published its Business Barometer 2022 report, in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce. The barometer showed that 70% of organisations in Wales are reporting a negative impact on their workforce, including reduced profitability and growth, as a result of the skills shortage

The Open University is working with employers to identify how they can support them through creating a learning culture, offering opportunities like short accredited courses and degree apprenticeships to help close the skills gap within their workforce.
