TfW Achieves Gold Membership for Third Consecutive Year

Transport for Wales (TfW) is one of 89 large employers to achieve gold membership as part of the 5% Club’s 2025–26 Employer Audit Scheme.

This recognition marks the third consecutive year TfW has demonstrated its commitment in nurturing talent through “earn and learn” initiatives such as Apprenticeships, Graduate Schemes, and Sponsored Student Placements.

The 5% Club is a leading employer membership organisation committed to creating pathways for professional growth and fostering a more inclusive, diverse and accessible workplace.

To achieve Gold Membership, organisations undergo a rigorous Employer Audit process that meticulously assesses their efforts in “earn and learn” programs, future aspirations, and dedication to social mobility, diversity, and inclusion.

Tina Rees, Head of Recruitment and Onboarding at TfW, said:

“We’re proud to achieve Gold membership for the third year in a row. It reflects our commitment that by supporting every individual to reach their full potential, we not only strengthen our organisation but also the communities we serve.

“Over the past 12 months, we’ve focused on attracting more young people into our organisation. Our outreach has been more targeted, enhancing engagement with schools, colleges, and universities, and strengthening key partnerships, including with Careers Wales as part of the School Valued Partnership. We’ve also promoted our SpringPod virtual work to schools and younger audiences to help widen participation and accessibility.

“This collaborative and proactive approach has not only strengthened our early talent recruitment but also enhanced and built upon the foundations we’ve already established in this space.”

Mark Cameron OBE, Chief Executive at The 5% Club, said:

“We are incredibly proud of the outstanding employers, like TfW who continue to raise the bar for workplace learning. Their dedication to creating rich and varied ‘earn and learn' opportunities sets a remarkable example.

“By achieving Gold membership, TfW has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to investing in people — shaping the skills of tomorrow and driving lasting impact for both business and society.”

Gill Cronin, Director of Operations at The 5% Club, added:

“It is truly inspiring to see the enthusiasm and leadership our members bring to developing talent.

TfW’s Gold membership is a shining example of how purposeful investment in people can deliver opportunity, inclusion, and excellence.

“As 20% of our members now reach these prestigious tiers, organisations like TfW continue to pave the way for the future workforce.”
