Ten New Apprentices Join Council Apprenticeship Programme

Ten new apprentices have joined Pembrokeshire County Council’s Building Maintenance team as part of an expanded programme.

The new apprenticeships specialise in both Construction Management and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

It follows an initial cohort of four apprentices, all of whom are now employed within the council.

The new recruits will gain hands on experience, work alongside experienced staff, and study towards industry recognised qualifications.

Rhys Jones, Building Maintenance Operations Manager, said:

“After a highly successful recruitment process, we were delighted to appoint 10 exceptional candidates. They’ve embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly and are now integrating into our working culture while beginning their degree apprenticeship programmes.

“I firmly believe in the power of opportunity. These apprentices will not only gain valuable qualifications but also develop a broad skill set across the sector, setting the foundation for a fulfilling and enduring career in the industry.”

Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Michelle Bateman, said:

“The Building Maintenance apprenticeship programme reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to workforce development, service excellence, and creating meaningful career pathways for young people in Pembrokeshire.”
