A local housebuilder is celebrating a major milestone after selling the final home at its popular Swansea development.
Barratt David Wilson South Wales’ Pentref Llewelyn, on Llewelyn Road in Swansea, launched in November 2023 and has seen a thriving community built over the past few years – helping many first-time buyers step onto the property ladder in the region. Now, with all 145 homes built and sold, the housebuilder is preparing to close its doors at the site.
As part of its development, the housebuilder has invested over £1.3M into the local community as part of planning agreements with the local council. The sum has contributed to supporting primary education in the local area, as well as improving public areas by adding 2.2 acres of open space, improving 170 new streets and delivering a new play area.
Sian Smith, Sales Director for Barratt David Wilson Redrow South Wales, said:
“It’s been wonderful to see the community at Pentref Llewelyn grow and thrive since opening three years ago.
“It’s easy to see why the development has been such a huge success over the last few years – with its fantastic location, offering a slice of the countryside while being close to a city, and homes that combine sleek, modern interiors with the practical functionality needed for everyday family living.
“The development is such a special place to live, and we are thrilled to have built such a blossoming community.”
The housebuilder is continuing to build at nearby developments, including Afon Las in Cardiff and Chestnut Park and Cot Hill Rise in Newport.
House hunters can also utilise initiatives offered at these nearby developments, including the key worker deposit contribution scheme designed to help homebuyers through the process of moving.
