Street Food Circus will return this spring, launching a series of ten events which celebrate food and family in a range of coastal, castle and woodland locations.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Street Food Circus, which over the last decade has provided a platform for some of Wales’ best known chefs and street food businesses. The 2025 season will mark the anniversary with the biggest programme of events in Street Food Circus history – including new locations and new seasonal events.
Street Food Circus’ first stop this year will be a return to Candleston Woods for Forest Feastival, followed in May by the Big Banquet in Caldicot Castle. Across the summer, Street Food Circus will host the Welsh Street Food Awards, return to Southampton for Summer Feastival, set up in St Donat’s for Fantastic Fete and take traders to Big Feastival. A new street food event, Pleasure Gardens, will launch in Pembrey Country Park in June.
In the autumn, September will see a return of Harbour Feastival in Saundersfoot. Also, new for this year is Mabon, an autumn festival in Candleston Woods, named after the pagan autumn equinox festival, which celebrates the abundance of harvest-time and cooking with smoke and fire.
To round off the year – and the tenth anniversary – Festive Feastival will return with its mix of street food, roller disco and Christmas circus magic.
Street Food Circus founder and ringmaster Matt the Hat said:
“Street Food Circus has been a game-changer for the Welsh street food scene. Over the past ten years, we've provided opportunities for some of the country's best chefs and street food businesses to showcase their incredible talents.
“Looking down the list of the hundreds of businesses we’ve worked with over the years it's great to see people who’ve gone on to open permanent restaurants, to develop and launch new street food concepts and to go on to win major UK awards for their food.
“We’ve also tried to bring street food to more people across Wales, supporting different locations and venues and giving as many people as possible the chance to experience this level of cooking and diversity of cuisines.
“As we reflect on our first decade, I hope everyone who’s been involved feels proud of our collective success to date – and looks forward to celebrating in the best possible way, with a full year of great street food parties.”
Forest Feastival opens the 2025 season for four weekends in April and May. Tickets are now on sale for the festival which opens for Easter weekend on Friday 18 April and runs to Sunday 11 May.
In a site behind the dunes at Merthyr Mawr, Forest Feastival has a new area this year dedicated to food cooked over fire and classic Americana dishes. The all new Barbecewi area features Westlands BBQ, bringing the world's only BBQ Hotrod smoker, Feast Pembrokeshire, Two Lads Afghan BBQ, Dough Thrower, Fire & Flank and Acme Fried Chicken.
Joining Forest Feastival’s Feast from the East zone this year will be Keralan Karavan, Mandala, Ceylon & Beyond, Boa Selecta and Mr Noodle.
A new Caravan Stage will host circus and street performers, guest DJs and busking bands, and Matt The Hat’s bubble disco.
After Dark, Forest Feastival’s adults-only Friday night series, returns bringing the woodland alive to the sounds of SFC residents Pamoja Disco Club and the occasional guest band.
To help with the festival’s sustainability and reduce packaging waste, this year Street Food Circus is introducing reusable enamel plates which can be ordered in advance for pick up on the day. Food waste collection and washing up stations will be provided so that people can clean and reuse their plates for future events.
