Street food brand Low and Slow Barbecue is set to open its doors in Newport Market.
It will be taking over the former Tiny Rebel unit at the front of Newport Market, with fit-out works already underway.
Founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Jack and Lyndsey, Low and Slow Barbecue began as a pop-up outside a butcher's shop on Gloucester Road in Bristol. Their authentic, slow-smoked barbecue quickly gained a loyal following, leading to regular appearances at some of Bristol’s most popular street food markets and festivals.
In 2019, the business secured a permanent home in the Glass Arcade at St Nicholas Market.
Simon Baston, of Loft Co, operators of Newport Market, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Low and Slow Barbecue to Newport Market. They are a fantastic addition to our already diverse trader mix and a brand that people genuinely love.
“Newport Market is a real gem in the city and we want to reassure everyone that it’s here to stay — continuing to grow, evolve and thrive. We’d like to thank our customers for their ongoing support, particularly as we welcome new traders.
“We’ve seen record sales across the market recently, which is a testament to the strength of the offer and the community around it, and we’re confident that Low and Slow will only build on that momentum.”
The official opening date is set to be announced soon, with plans for a launch event featuring exclusive discounts and offers.
Low and Slow Barbecue joins a growing line-up of new traders at Newport Market, including Momoplus+ and Fowl and Fury.
