A Newtown steel construction company is to relocate to larger premises in the town.
G Jones Construction Ltd design, manufacture and erect steel-framed buildings, ranging from general storage to manufacturing facilities.
The company has completed the letting of a secure commercial storage yard at Wern Ddu Lane – which extends in total to 0.46 acres (0.19 hectares) – to be its new home.
G Jones Construction Ltd will continue to operate from its current premises at Newtown’s Vastre Industrial Estate before making the move to its new headquarters within the next few months.
Jessica Jones, accounts manager for the company, said:
“We are relocating as we need bigger premises due to expansion. There’s a lot more yard space at the new place which is what we need.
“We will be looking to put an office unit on the yard and a fabrication workshop.
“We have just taken on some new contracts and hopefully it will provide new jobs as well – we’re currently doing an employment drive.”
Toby Shaw, who handled the letting of the Wern Ddu Lane premises for Towler Shaw Roberts, added:
“The secure compound occupies a convenient location close to Newtown town centre and the A483.
“It benefits from 24-hour access and provides a level and secure commercial open yard, with concrete surface, perimeter palisade fencing and floodlights throughout.
“It generated a good level of interest and we are pleased to have now finalised a letting with G Jones Construction Ltd.
“We wish the company continued success ahead of moving in to their new premises later this year.”
