Starling Bank founder Anne Boden has launched a series of initiatives designed to boost the number of women leading high-growth businesses.
In the run-up to International Women’s Day, Anne chatted to Business News Wales editor Gemma Casey during a visit to Swansea University, where she was launching a campaign to provide more female role models for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Anne described how her work chairing The Women-Led High Growth Taskforce has resulted in key recommendations designed to close the gap between male and female-founded businesses.
These include:
- Measures to increase the amount of funding going to female-founded businesses.
- Empowering female high-growth entrepreneurs through regional support and more visibility of role models.
- Ongoing research into the causes of the current funding gap, so that the investment ecosystem can create solutions.
She has also released her third book, Female Founders’ Playbook – Insights from the Superwomen Who Made It. The book weaves together the experiences of leading women entrepreneurs and VC investors, offering insights on every aspect of launching a high-growth business.
