Active Learning Group, a specialist experiential education company that gives young people immersive shared experiences through activity-based learning, is delighted to announce its acquisition of Sealyham, a stunning Grade 2 listed mansion set within 90-acres and close to the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast in South West Wales.

Sealyham joins Cuffley – a beautiful woodland-based outdoor centre in the heart of Hertfordshire – to become its second Active Learning Centre, which is anticipated to open in Autumn 2022. Before it opens its doors to schools and clubs across the UK and further afield, a full refurbishment will take place to modernise the centre and bring it up to the highest standards that are found at Cuffley Active Learning Centre, Hertfordshire.

Active Learning Group’s senior team combines over three decades of quality indoor and outdoor education experience. It has built a portfolio of companies that offer young people a variety of life-enriching learning experiences outside of the classroom, to help develop resilience and confidence and promote wellbeing so they are ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century. This dedicated and ambitious team has recently attained level four, the highest status, from the Skills Builder Partnership, for its collective impact and hopes to continue to grow, in size and offer, over the next few years.

Underpinning its Active Learning Centre brand is the delivery of a bespoke experience. Activities are tailored specifically to their environment as Managing Director, Pat Milston FRGS, explains:

“This is a wonderful venture for us all and we are already underway with our plans. Our aim is that Sealyham will offer transformational outdoor learning experiences and adventures for young people, which truly engage with its unique coastal position, placing the stunning Pembrokeshire environment at their heart. It is supported by class-leading facilities and outstanding customer service, together with a management and instructor team that really understands the importance of building Essential Skills, Character and Wellbeing. We really look forward to welcoming both regular and new visitors next year”.

Nigel Miller, CEO for Active Learning Group, added:

“We’re delighted that we have been able to secure the future for this venue. It has been an ambition of ours for some time. Our aim is to make outdoor education as accessible as possible to as many children as possible, and we’re excited to expand our outdoor educational provision to create a journey that takes children from the enchantment of the woodlands to the charm of the coast, building confidence and character along the way. We’re exceptionally proud of the team who have worked so hard to realise this acquisition, and can’t wait to further support young people on their character-building journey in this beautiful part of the world.”
