Cyber security services provider Socura has been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces.
Announced at the Best Workplaces Awards 2026, Socura was ranked as the 59th best small workplace in the UK by Great Place To Work.
Out of the 350 organisations recognised at the Best Workplaces Awards 2026 across all categories, the Cardiff-based firm was one of only eight Welsh-headquartered companies to make the list, and one of just two dedicated managed cyber security service providers to be featured.
Recognition follows a recent anonymous survey of its employees in which 97% of respondents said that Socura is a great place to work—43 percentage points higher than the typical UK company. Socura employees rate the company highly in areas including trust, pride, and camaraderie, with 100% of staff agreeing that they can be themselves at work and that colleagues truly care for one another.
“While cyber security is one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors, it is also notorious for high stress and burnout,” said Socura CEO, Andrew Kays. “This is why employee experience and fostering a culture where our people can thrive is so important. Being recognised as one of the UK’s best workplaces is an incredibly proud moment for all of us.”
A recent Socura analysis of Office for National Statistics data found that while the number of cyber security professionals in the UK has tripled since 2021, a large regional disparity remains. Being a remote-first business means Socura is ideally positioned to attract and retain talent regardless of location, it said.
“I’ve had such a positive experience since joining the team at Socura,” says Kealey Hughes, Cybersecurity Engineer. “Even though we work remotely, the culture is incredibly welcoming with a genuine sense of community. The team has been instrumental in my progression, supporting me through my transition from Infrastructure Engineering into Cyber Security Engineering. It’s a caring, brilliant environment for growth where you’re encouraged to learn from some of the best minds in the industry while being given the training to truly thrive.”
Great Place To Work performed rigorous evaluations of hundreds of employee survey responses alongside Culture Audit submissions from leaders at each company to create the 2026 UK's Best Workplaces List. They then used these data insights to benchmark the effectiveness of companies' employee value propositions against the culture their employees actually experience. Only those businesses that achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces status.
“The UK’s Best Workplaces excel in creating consistently great experiences for all employees through fostering high levels of trust, pride and camaraderie to fuel increased organisational performance,” said Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work UK.
“These crucial elements collectively contribute to creating cultures where employees feel they can truly be themselves and thrive in a supportive and caring environment. Congratulations to Socura for achieving a place on our 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces List.”
