The interim head teacher and the chair of Governors at the Michaelston Community College and Glyn Derw Federation have today confirmed that changes made to improve standards are having a positive effect at the school.
Interim head teacher, Mr Lee Jarvis said: “Colleagues at the Federation know the school is improving. There is a positive atmosphere at the school and the pupils are responding to the improvements that have recently been made. Shortcomings at the school are being addressed but we all know that there is still a lot more to be done.
“We have implemented a much stronger behaviour policy and we have already seen a significant improvement in classroom behaviour.
“We have introduced new breaktime and lunchtime arrangements and there will be work over the summer holiday to further strengthen security features on the Michaelston site.
