University of South Wales (USW) lecturer Beth Jenkins has been honoured for the second time in a matter of months.
Having been Highly Commended in the Alan Turing Award at the National Cyber Awards in September, Beth went one better in the recent Cyber Security Awards, winning the Cyber Personality of the Year, which recognises an exceptional individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, advocacy, and expertise in the field of cyber security.
Digital Forensics Lecturer Beth, who was a Digital Forensic Examiner at Gwent Police, and then a Forensic Quality Specialist, said of her award:
“I know everyone says this, but I am genuinely blown away by this because I honestly didn’t expect it, I am so grateful that I get the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful industry.
“I see it at every conference I attend, the warmth and passion of people in the cyber community is infectious. I am truly so proud to just be a part of it, so to be noted as a ‘personality’ is unbelievable.
“Thank you so much to the judges and congratulations to the other nominees. I’m thankful to work for an organisation like USW that supports my ventures in the industry.”
The Cyber Security Awards were established in 2014 to reward the best individuals, teams, and companies within the cybersecurity industry.
