Monmouthshire County Council and Caldicot Town Council are working in partnership and have engaged LDA Design to help guide the development of a new placemaking plan for Caldicot.
They are now inviting residents, businesses and regular visitors to have their say on the future of the town centre.
The Caldicot Placemaking Plan will set out a shared vision for the town centre and identify priority projects to help guide future investment from both the public and private sectors. The plan will focus on what is working well, what could be improved and what matters most to the community.
The first stage of the consultation process – Let's Talk… Enhancing Caldicot – is designed to gather views on how the town centre works today and what priorities local people would like to see reflected in the plan. Feedback will help shape the next stage of the project, when a developed vision and proposed projects will be shared for further discussion in September and October 2026.
People will be able to take part through face-to-face engagement in Caldicot town centre and online via Let's Talk Monmouthshire from Tuesday, 2nd June 2026. Printed copies of the survey will also be available at the Caldicot Community Hub and Library and Caldicot Town Council Offices from 2nd June.
Cllr Paul Griffiths, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development, said:
“This is an important opportunity for local people to help shape the future of Caldicot town centre. We want to hear from residents, businesses and visitors about what is working well, what could be improved and what matters most to them.
“Your feedback will help us develop a placemaking plan that reflects local priorities and supports a vibrant, welcoming and successful town centre for the future. Caldicot has been given this great opportunity to make improvements to our town.”
Mayor of Caldicot, Cllr Maxine Mitchell, said:
“We need residents, visitors, community groups and businesses to have their say in shaping our future. Please take this opportunity to talk to us and take part in the community engagement consultation. We look forward to hearing your ideas.”
