Property collective M Core is set to enter a phase of regeneration at M Cwmbran with significant investment being made to enhance and modernise key areas of the town.
The plans, developed in collaboration with Torfaen Borough Council, will see a series of projects designed to revitalise the town centre and further strengthen Cwmbran’s appeal as a leading retail and leisure destination in South Wales.
The regeneration follows M Core’s acquisition of M Cwmbran and Cwmbran Leisure in 2022. Both purchases helped strengthen M Core’s opportunity to broaden the centre’s leisure and entertainment offering, the organisation said.
Among the headline projects is the redevelopment of Gwent House, with construction due to commence in Q2 2027. The project is expected to take two years to complete, concluding in Q2 2029.
In addition, Gwent Square will also undergo a comprehensive transformation. Work on this area is scheduled to begin alongside the wider regeneration programme. The redevelopment will create new green space in the heart of the town and include new hard landscaped seating and paving, provide water features.
The centre has also announced a new lease agreement for 15 years with Flip Out, which will open in the former bingo hall. The family entertainment venue will feature a range of activities including Arcades, Roller Disco, Laser Quest and inflatable zones.

Cllr Joanne Gauden, Torfaen's Executive Member for Economy, Skills and Regeneration, said:
“This announcement is the next exciting step in our placemaking plans for Cwmbran Town Centre and the planned redevelopment of Gwent Square and Gwent House.
“Our placemaking plans demonstrate that by working together with partners like Welsh Government and local businesses, we can secure investment to create vibrant, attractive town centres that bring more people into the town and has a more diverse offer to keep them here, including bolstering the night-time economy.”
Adam Martin, Head of Bristol Office at LCP UK, part of M Core and Asset manager to M Cwmbran adds:
“We are incredibly proud to be continuing our long-term investment in in the future of Cwmbran and working closely with Torfaen Borough Council and Flip Out to deliver this regeneration.
“These developments mark a significant step forward in enhancing the town’s retail, leisure, and community offering. Our goal is to create a space that continues to thrive for years to come, a place where people can shop, socialise, and enjoy everything Cwmbran has to offer. The regeneration programme represents a major commitment to Cwmbran’s future, with further announcements expected as plans progress.”
