Plexus FS have celebrated the installation of a state-of-the-art Fire Safety and CCTV system at the prestigious new Penderyn Whisky Distillery in Swansea.

Located on the site of the former Hafod Morfa Copperworks, opposite the Swansea.com Stadium, the new Swansea distillery includes a visitor centre, shop, tasting bar, exhibition space, offices and VIP area, along with a barrel maturation store, all of which are protected by systems installed by the Plexus FS team.

“We are proud to have been involved in this landmark project,” said sales manager Jamie Grey. “The facility is a perfect blend of heritage and modern design, and we are delighted to have been part of the team that transformed this historic building.”

Working through RDM Electrical & Mechanical Services, Plexus FS installed a range of systems that included an Advanced, Multi-Panel Fire Safety Network, multiple internal and external CCTV cameras, Access Control Systems and an Intruder Alarm.

“We worked closely with RDM and the lead contractors to understand the vision and design of the facility,” said Jamie, “and were able to make subtle but important upgrades to the CCTV units we installed, such as colour-matching them to the decor as white units would stand out and spoil the aesthetic.”

Working to tight time scales, the Plexus FS team pulled out all the stops to make sure the security and safety systems were commissioned before the official opening day, and, true to their word, the systems went live in plenty of time.

“We were delighted to work with Jamie, Marcus and the engineers from Plexus,” said Bethan Morgans of Penderyn Whisky. “The site was a busy place to be in the run-up to the opening, however, they understood our vision and worked in an efficient and professional manner to make sure their part of the plan was completed in time.”
