The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (PCNPA) has awarded funding to five projects following a highly competitive round of the Sustainable Development Fund (SDF).
The Grants Committee reviewed 15 applications from across Pembrokeshire, saying the “exceptionally high calibre” of proposals made for a difficult selection process, with the successful projects standing out for their clear vision and commitment to SDF aims.
The five successful applicants are:
- Transition Bro Gwaun
- Yr Hen Ysgol, Dinas
- The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (Skokholm Island)
- Angle Village Hall
- St Davids City Council
These projects include the installation of renewable energy systems for community buildings and retrofit improvements to local community hubs.
Bethan Jones, Sustainability Officer at the Park Authority, said:
“It was encouraging to see such ambitious ideas emerging from our local communities. These projects offer innovative solutions that will deliver a lasting, positive impact across communities in the National Park.”
With funding now secured, work on these projects has already begun. Details regarding the next round of SDF funding will be announced as soon as future budgets are confirmed.
