Orbis Education and Care Takes Home Three Awards at Great British Care Awards

Orbis Education and Care has won three awards at the Wales finals of this year’s Great British Care Awards.

Cartref Mynydd, located in Pontarddulais on the outskirts of Swansea, took home the Housing with Care award. Its team was recognised for their approach to creating an inclusive environment, working closely with each person in their care to ensure activities are person-centred and meaningful.

Two team members from Dan y Coed home, which is based in Swansea Bay, were also named as winners in their categories. Sean Jones was awarded the Care Newcomer award while Jade Evans took home the Care Home Worker award. Sean was commended for his commitment to the young people in his care, going above and beyond to build meaningful connections with them to support their growth. The judges recognised Jade for her unwavering dedication and commitment to making each day brighter for the young people in her care and becoming a positive presence in their lives.

Orbis Education and Care operates several schools, day services, and residential facilities across Wales, supporting children and adults with complex needs linked to autism.

The Great British Care Awards celebrates achievement across the UK’s care sector, recognising and honouring individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication within their field.

The winners will now go on to represent Wales in their respective categories at the UK finals which take place at the ICC in Birmingham next spring.

Lou Aubrey, Commercial Director at Orbis Education and Care, said:

“We are incredibly proud of our employees and it’s wonderful to see their commitment to everyone in their care being recognised.

“To have 22 nominations going into this year’s regional awards is an amazing achievement and for us to come away with three is truly rewarding. Everyone here at Orbis Education and Care would like to wish our winners, and those who were shortlisted, a huge congratulations. We are looking forward to the finals next year.”

Orbis Education and Care runs 32 schools and residential homes across the UK and is one of the UK’s leading providers of care for individuals with a range of needs, including autism and learning difficulties.
