Learners are travelling from across the UK to rural North Wales, inspired by a trailblazing Animal Management team.
Sadie Thackaberry, Programme Leader for HND Animal Management and FE Curriculum Leader for Animal Care at Coleg Cambria Northop, has a Master’s in Evolutionary Behaviour and another in Education, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate focused on the use of therapy animals in education.

“Ours is very much a dream team,” said Sadie.
“We all bring different strengths to the table, but share a common passion for animal care, education, and the success of our students.
“For anyone considering a future in conservation, animal science, behaviour, or welfare, our HND and HNC programmes offer the perfect foundation.
“We encourage anyone with a passion for animals and a drive to make a difference to come and explore what Cambria Northop has to offer.”

Joining Sadie are Stephanie Davies, who has a background in zoological education and a BSc in Zoology with Herpetology, a Trustee for the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust; Alex Morgan, who holds degrees in Animal Behavioural Science and Education, combining more than 20 years of teaching with experience as a creative business owner, and Louise Baker, who has expertise in Equine Science, Psychology, and Forensic Behavioural Science, and runs a successful equine business.
Sadie also praised Darren Roberts, who has spent 29 years teaching at Northop in Life Science and has a passion “which is matched only by his dedication to student success”, and Sam Bevin, a seasoned professional with over 20 years in the animal care industry, specialising in dog grooming and practical animal care.
