Newport City Council has launched a survey to seek views on life in the city.
Let’s Talk: Living in Newport asks residents for their opinions on various aspects of life in Newport, including:
- what people think of their local area
- how satisfied they are with council services such as education, social care, recycling and libraries
- how satisfied they are with the quality of their local environment
- whether they participate in your local community
- what their thoughts are on local democracy.
“Let’s Talk: Living in Newport is a chance for our residents to give us feedback on how we’re doing, and share their perceptions of the city,” said Councillor Emma Corten, Cabinet member for culture and communications.
“Listening to our residents, and understanding what is most important to them, helps us shape our work and our services to ensure we are meeting their needs.
“The work to switch on streetlights overnight, which started last month, is a perfect example of this. Residents shared their strength of feeling on the issue, and we acted.
“This survey will hopefully give us some great insight into how we’re doing in the eyes of those we work for.
“We would love to hear as many views as possible through the survey, and I encourage anyone with an opinion to take part and make their voice heard.”
The survey is hosted by Data Cymru, and forms part of their National Resident Survey, which is designed to support local councils hear and understand the views and perceptions of their residents, while also increasing their understanding of their own performance. Data Cymru and the Welsh Local Government Association worked with local councils across Wales in developing the survey.
The survey closes on Tuesday 30 September. To take part follow this link.
