Top-100 law firm Hugh James has expanded its employment and HR team in Cardiff with the appointment of senior associate, Eleanor Bamber.
A law graduate from Oxford University, Eleanor completed her legal training at the London office of global legal practice Norton Rose. Her experience includes undertaking tribunal work on a range of issues, such as the defence of mass equal pay claims and discrimination claims under the Equality Act 2010.
She specialises in company restructures and advising on the effect of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE), which protect employees when a business changes hands.
Speaking about her move, Eleanor said: “Hugh James has been strong in the employment sector for many years, so I was keen to be part of that success. The nature of employment work is varied and challenging because it ultimately affects people’s day to day lives. It is quite a responsibility but the work is rewarding.
“Working alongside our London office, Hugh James can offer both a regional and national service which is recognised in its sector as being the best.”
Emma Burns, partner and head of the Hugh James employment and HR division, added: “Eleanor is an excellent practitioner and fits right in at Hugh James. She brings a wealth of experience and specialist expertise which strengthens our established offering.”
Eleanor sits on the Bridgend business forum, and regularly delivers seminars and training on a variety of topics.
