Businesses and organisations across Neath Port Talbot are being offered a new opportunity to raise their profile, contribute to discussions about the region’s economic future and have a stronger voice in shaping local opportunities, as Business News Wales prepares to launch a dedicated regional news section, bi-monthly newsletter and regular podcast series.
The new Neath Port Talbot section forms part of a wider strategy by Business News Wales to strengthen regional business ecosystems across Wales, bringing greater visibility to the companies, organisations, investments and developments driving local economies.
Through a combination of original business journalism, industry insight, interviews and regional commentary, the platform will provide businesses with an opportunity to share their experiences, promote their achievements and contribute to a wider understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the area.
A dedicated bi-monthly newsletter will bring together the latest regional business news, developments and opportunities, while a regular podcast series will provide a platform for business leaders, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to discuss the issues influencing Neath Port Talbot’s economic future.
The launch builds on the first Business News Wales Neath Port Talbot Regional Growth Editorial Board, held at Swansea University in September, which brought together senior representatives from business, industry, education and regional development.
The discussion included contributions from organisations representing some of the region’s most significant economic opportunities, including the UK government, Celtic Freeport, Tata Steel UK, the Global Centre of Rail Excellence, Swansea University and businesses involved in manufacturing, construction and energy.
The session explored the importance of regional coordination, investment, infrastructure, skills and the need to ensure that businesses of all sizes can contribute to and benefit from future economic development.
Insights gathered through the Editorial Board will help inform ongoing journalism and regional coverage, alongside wider engagement with businesses and organisations operating across Neath Port Talbot.
Businesses and organisations interested in supporting the new regional coverage, contributing insight or exploring opportunities to raise their profile are encouraged to contact the team at Business News Wales.
Mark Powney, Managing Director of Business News Wales, said:
“One of the biggest challenges facing Wales is ensuring that the economic stories emerging from our regions receive the attention they deserve.
“Too often, the national conversation focuses on the same organisations, the same locations and the same issues, while extraordinary businesses, investments and opportunities across our regional economies receive comparatively little visibility.
“Neath Port Talbot is a region undergoing significant economic change, with major developments in energy, manufacturing, infrastructure and innovation. But it is also home to a much wider ecosystem of smaller businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations whose contributions are equally important.
“Our ambition is to shine a light on these regional economies, give businesses a stronger voice and help connect the people and organisations who have a shared interest in their future.
“We want Business News Wales to be more than somewhere businesses go to promote themselves. We want it to become a platform that helps regions understand their collective strengths, identify opportunities and build stronger connections.”
The Neath Port Talbot launch represents an important step in the wider evolution of Business News Wales, which is developing a network of regional and sector-specific news platforms supported by editorial engagement, original journalism and evidence-led insight.
