Persimmon Homes East Wales has appointed its new Construction Director.
Craig Derrick will take on responsibility for overseeing the safe, on-time, and quality delivery of all the accredited five-star housebuilder's developments, while supporting site teams and supply chain with continuous improvement and mentorship.
Craig has returned to Persimmon – he was previously a contracts manager for the West Wales business for two years – after a decade away working as a Senior Contacts Manager for Barratt David Wilson's southwest division before becoming Head of Production at Bromford Housing.
Having been in the housebuilding industry since leaving school and completing a trade qualification, Craig joined George Wimpey in 1997 as a trainee site manager, progressing to senior site management before his first stint with Persimmon.
Craig has achieved multiple National House Building Council's Pride in the Job awards, is a member of Chartered Institute of Building, and has several NVQ Levels in Senior Construction Management, and an HNC in Construction Management.
Persimmon's East Wales sites include those in Viriginia Park in Caerphilly, Creigiau in Cardiff, Twynyrodyn in Merthyr Tydfil, Llanwern in Newport, and Ebbw Vale as well as Leominster and Lydney across the border.
Craig said:
“It is a pleasure to return to Persimmon, and it is privilege to do so in this position, taking on responsibility for the company's reputation as a high-quality and accredited five-star HBF housebuilder.
“What I enjoy most is working for a business committed to quality, and leading great teams who take pride in delivering homes for customers, and it is great that I will have the chance to do this with Persimmon across East Wales.”
Lee Hawker, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes East Wales, added:
“We are very pleased to have Craig on board with us at Persimmon, taking on the important role of Construction Director. He is an experienced voice who will be an asset in our ambitious senior leadership team.
“Persimmon prides itself on our five-star accreditation with the HBF and Craig will be a crucial part of delivering high-quality homes for local people across East Wales.”
