A Monmouthshire-headquartered specialist in intellectual property and trade mark law is celebrating 10 years of providing brand protection, trade mark registration, and consultancy services.

Founded in 2016 by chartered trade mark attorney Michelle Ward, Indelible IP provides expert guidance on the protection of brands, logos, and designs. With over 30 years of experience, Michelle has worked with a diverse range of clients, from micro-businesses and SMEs to multinationals, across sectors including food and beverage, engineering, life sciences, and electronics.

After starting her career in large corporate law firms and specialist IP practices, Michelle established Indelible IP to provide high-level legal expertise with a focus on the small business community.

Michelle Ward said:

“Establishing Indelible IP allowed me to focus on the businesses that truly drive the economy. I found real joy in working with smaller firms where you can see the direct impact of protecting their identity and hard work. Reaching a decade in business is a significant milestone, and it is rewarding to have grown a base of clients that spans both the local South Wales community and the international market.”

Over the past decade, Indelible IP has navigated the impact of Brexit on trade mark laws and is currently addressing the challenges posed by AI.

“The landscape for legal services is changing rapidly,” Michelle added.

“AI is currently a major focus; while it offers new tools, it can also provide inaccurate legal information – something the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has issued stark warnings about. Maintaining professional accountability and human expertise is more important than ever.”

Indelible IP is an active member of the South Wales business network, Comercity. Michelle has worked closely with the network, securing the trade mark for Comercity itself as well as for other member businesses, such as environmental services firm Suremark.

Jonathan Cave, founder of Comercity, said:

“Michelle is a highly valued member of the Comercity network. She has used her expertise to support numerous fellow members and has been instrumental in securing our own brand protection. I am delighted to see Indelible IP reach its 10th anniversary and look forward to seeing the business continue to thrive.”
