Melanie Wilson, the founder of Ffitrwydd Môn, has been named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Môn CF Anglesey Business Awards.
The accolade recognises Melanie's dedication to community-led fitness and her successful expansion from local school halls to a thriving dedicated studio and gym.
The award was presented at a ceremony celebrating the best of Anglesey’s business community.
Melanie said:
“It took me a moment to realise it was me they were talking about as they announced it. I'm beyond proud and looking back at the early days of exercise classes in a school hall, it feels a long journey.”
Ffitrwydd Môn was established with a mission to move beyond the traditional “gym” aesthetic, focusing instead on inclusivity and social connection.
Melanie continued:
“I really wanted the studio and gym to be about community. Fitness isn't just about the exercise, but it's about bringing people together, getting people out of their houses and making friends. Covid was tough, but with Ffitrwydd Môn I hope to give as many people as possible the opportunity to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.”
Ffitrwydd Môn offers a range of classes and equipment designed to make fitness accessible to everyone, regardless of their starting point.
