Lidl Announces Opening Date for Relocated Cwmbran Store

Lidl has today announced that its brand-new Cwmbran store will officially open on Thursday 6th February. Located on St David’s Road, this state-of-the-art store replaces the long-standing Lidl on Woodside Road, which has served the community for 30 years and will close its doors on Wednesday 5th February.

Spanning a 1,516m² sales area, the new store is over 40% larger than its predecessor. It will be open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays. To celebrate the launch, customers can enjoy Lidl Plus offers and complimentary food sampling throughout the opening weekend.

The new and improved store, which is of the very latest Lidl specification, provides residents with even greater access to Lidl’s best-value products, including its much-loved bakery and popular Middle of Lidl section.

New and enhanced amenities include customer toilets with baby-changing facilities, a larger car park with electric vehicle charging points, solar panels to power the store, a sustainable drainage system, and a feature green wall, increasing biodiversity.

This multi-million-pound investment also benefits the local community by creating 10 new roles in addition to welcoming back existing colleagues.

George Ledward, Regional Head of Property at Lidl GB, said:

“We’re delighted to announce the opening of our new relocated store in Cwmbran. Our Woodside Road location has been a cornerstone of the community for three decades, and we’re thrilled to now offer residents an even better shopping experience at our new St David’s Road store. We can’t wait to welcome both new and returning customers through the doors, and we’re confident they’ll love everything their new Lidl has to offer.”

For more than three decades, Lidl has continually delivered its unbeatable combination of quality and affordability to shoppers across Great Britain. With more customers choosing to shop at Lidl, the discounter has consistently been named the fastest growing bricks-and-mortar supermarket for over a year.
