Leading Aerospace Business Confirms New Managing Director


GE Aerospace has announced Steve Edwards as the new Managing Director of the company’s site in Wales, based just north of Cardiff.

He will start in role before the end of the year. The company said that Steve brings with him a great leadership background along with a strong passion for supporting customers and its team utilising Lean problem solving methodologies, technology and collaborative spirit to drive positive impactful change. For the last four years Steve has been the Managing Director of the GE Aerospace Hungary site which specialises in material repair for the wider GE Aerospace network.

The GE Aerospace site in Wales specialises in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial airlines and employs more than 1,350 highly skilled aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers and specialists and supports both the CFM56 and GE90 engine fleets.

Steve’s priorities will be the continued focus on the ensuring the safety of all employees and meeting the quality, delivery and cost expectations of the site’s global customer base.

Steve Edwards, Managing Director at GE Aerospace in Wales, said:

I’m looking forward to strengthening those relationships and focussing on accelerating the deployment of FLIGHT DECK – the GE Aerospace proprietary lean operating model – so we can better support our employees and deliver for our customers.”
