His Excellency Ambassador Hayashi Hajime, Japan’s Ambassador to the UK, will pay a two-day visit to South Wales later this week.

His visit will include attending a networking event for Japanese companies based in Wales to be held at global manufacturing leader Sony UK TEC, Pencoed, which manufactures market-leading Sony Broadcast and Professional Audio & Video products for worldwide distribution.  The First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford MS will address the gathering.

Later that day, a dinner will be held for leaders of these companies at Hensol Castle in the presence of the Ambassador and the Minister of Economy, Vaughan Gething MS.

The Ambassador will pay a private visit to the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff to view an exhibition of Japanese Art before attending a Commendation Ceremony.

“This two day visit has been arranged to celebrate some of the long-term shared artistic, economic, cultural, and technological successes of the relationship between Wales and Japan” said Keith Dunn OBE, Honorary Consul for Japan in Wales, who will be accompanying the Ambassador on his visit.
